Stand Up!’s Month of Impact, Inclusion, and Innovation

The team continued to deliver impactful sessions across schools, challenging discrimination and promoting inclusion. As always, we remain committed to fostering meaningful conversations with young people about combating antisemitism, anti-Muslim hate, and all forms of prejudice.

Jewish members of our team attended the UJIA Kenes event, which explored the theme of peoplehood. The discussions focused on the role of storytelling in shaping the future of the Jewish people, the significance of faith across different Jewish denominations, and the foundational elements that hold Jewish peoplehood together. This reflective and insightful day reinforced the importance of education in strengthening identity and fostering unity within diverse Jewish communities.

The team have been developing and refining our media and propaganda workshop, with an updated focus on the rise of populism, extremism, and polarisation. We explored how these forces fuel hatred towards both Muslims and Jews, equipping students with the tools to critically assess the narratives they encounter in media and political discourse.

We partnered with some of our sessional facilitators to explore ways to support their upcoming theatre project at ArtsDepot Finchley. This exciting initiative, led by Adi Gortler and Hamza Ali, aims to creatively engage audiences in conversations about identity, belonging, and discrimination. More details about the project can be found here.

The Stand Up! team attended an insightful talk at BISA about the Dreyfus Affair, one of the most significant events in modern Jewish history. The discussion explored its lasting impact on Jewish identity and the broader fight against antisemitism. More details about the event can be found here.

We are excited to announce the creation of the Alan Senitt Upstanders Leadership Programme (ASULP) alumni network on LinkedIn! This group serves as a platform for former participants to reconnect, share opportunities, and continue making an impact.

We encourage all alumni to join the conversation, share their journeys, and continue being Upstanders!
