JLC

The Jewish Leadership Council (JLC) is the strategic umbrella body of the UK Jewish community, supporting our 36 cross-communal members by connecting them to policymakers, providing development opportunities to professional and lay leaders, and connecting them with internal and external stakeholders. We also support non-members through leadership development and networking.

Our work is guided by our strategic objectives with all actions aligned to our three foundational goals: enhancing political security, bolstering communal capacity and capability, and proactively preparing for future challenges.

By fostering strong relationships with politicians, government bodies, the media, and civil society organisations, we’ve sought to enhance the political security of our community, ensuring that our voice is heard.

Through our Lead division, we’ve been dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders – both lay and professional – by providing support and development opportunities to help safeguard the future of our community and meet the specific needs of our members.

In anticipation of future challenges, the JLC has launched its Forge the Future project – an ambitious yet achievable set of initiatives for the entire community to get behind and ensure the future of Jewish life in this country. Through nine projects and extensive cross-community collaboration, new structures and networks are being built across the community in order to respond effectively to the new challenges we face.
